4 signs you’re a workaholic

first_imgAlways in the officeDo you notice you’re first to arrive and last to leave? This is absolutely acceptable and encouraged when you’re new to a position and learning the ropes or if you’re completing an important project. But consider how productive and useful this extra time actually is as chances are, you are more fatigued during these hours. Instead, get plenty of rest so you can fire on all cylinders during regular business hours.Unable to sleepIf you are a workaholic, it will inevitably begin to negatively affect other things in your life, including your quality of sleep. The more you think of business matters during your off time the less likely you’ll be able to “turn it off.” Ever head to bed only to lay there consumed with thoughts of work? The less sleep you get the less likely you’ll function well the following day. So, when you leave the office, leave work at the door.Relationships are strainedWhen work overshadows other aspects of life, your loved ones will notice and be affected. A healthy personal life means devoting plenty of time to nurturing your relationships and maintaining strong bonds with family and friends. If they begin to feel you are more invested in your work than in them, it will cause tension. It is respectable to care about your professional career, but not at the expense of important people in your life.Your self-worth equals your work successWorkaholics often attribute their worth as a person to successes experienced in their work life. They find personal value in business accomplishments and let professional disappointments define their self-esteem. There will occasionally be setbacks at the office, but employees who place so much emphasis on their job performance end up feeling depressed and unhappy which directly impacts their outlook on life. 48SHARESShareShareSharePrintMailGooglePinterestDiggRedditStumbleuponDeliciousBufferTumblr,Wendy Moody Wendy Moody is a Senior Editor with CUInsight.com. Are you tired of the monster in your server room?

first_img 10SHARESShareShareSharePrintMailGooglePinterestDiggRedditStumbleuponDeliciousBufferTumblr Have you ever heard the term “Feed the Monster”? It’s when someone has a problem and rather than do what it takes to fix it, they “feed the monster” and continue in their useless cycles. So, let me ask you a question: If your credit union pays so much money to its technology vendors, why do you still have to manage that monster in the server room? Some credit union executives like to walk by the server room and see the blinking lights and endless wires but it’s probably safe to say that most view their server as a stressful and expensive piece of hardware that they’d rather someone else manage and maintain. Some credit unions have the budget for qualified IT departments that can handle such tasks but imagine what other important tasks your IT staff could be doing if they didn’t have to worry about server uptime. In the article Members Don’t Care About Credit Union Software and Neither Should You, we asked whether credit unions are in the technology business or in the business of providing financial services. Your members want a pleasant and convenient experience with your credit union and, in this day and age, that requires you to provide the right technology in a painless and seamless manner. While your IT budget may make you feel more like you’re a tech company than a financial institution, it is important to make the investment inconspicuous to your members. Allow your credit union technology partners to handle the technology so you can focus on providing an uncomplicated, user-friendly experience. In the past, credit unions needed a large, clunky, complicated, and expensive server onsite. Many of your technology vendors may have required their software to be housed on these servers, further expanding the size and requirements of your server room. That is until credit union cloud solutions came along and slowly changed people’s way of thinking. Credit unions no longer need that expensive hardware, taking up valuable real estate and inordinate amounts of your budget and time. continue reading »last_img read more

A quality marina system is extremely important for nautical tourism and it is great to hear how ACI is constantly improving its marinas and services, but they are also focused on socially and environmentally responsible business. View of ACI marina Split For Adriatic Croatia International Club (ACI) 2018 was a record year. Due to the sales and investment activities of the Company, a significant increase in operating and total revenues was achieved. All ACI marinas have become holders of three ISO certificates, and the introduction of the fourth is underway, which confirms the focus on responsible business, energy use and environmental protection. An additional recognition of ACI marinas are the “Blue Flags”, awarded in as many as 18 marinas, for sustainable management and governance of the sea and coastal zone. Also, the most significant investment project in the history of ACI was completed, the complete reconstruction of ACI marina Rovinj, which represents a turn in access to nautical tourism, marina offer and services for sailors, and is categorized by advanced technology, safety, luxury and beauty. Significant steps have been taken towards modernization and business progress, such as business digitization and the introduction of CRM systems. A number of smaller and larger investments were made in order to improve the quality of service provision, which was confirmed through the awarding of the CNTB “Tourist Flower” awards, in which the marinas Dubrovnik and Split received awards for the best medium marinas this year (2nd and 3rd place). As of this season, boaters also have at their disposal a mobile application with digital services and information. ACI marina Rovinj Photo: Facebook / ACI Marinaslast_img read more

What’s next for Neymar?

first_imgCBF vice president Francisco Noveletto was quoted by Brazilian media on Tuesday as saying he was willing to “bet” that Neymar would quit.“He doesn’t have the psychological condition to face the Copa America and journalists,” Noveletto said. That prompted CBF president Rogerio Caboclo to insist Wednesday — for the second time this week — that Neymar would play in the tournament despite the rape accusations. While some social media users looked to conspiracy theories to explain Neymar’s injury, most put the incident down to fate.“Fate has brought a solution to a problem that neither (coach) Tite nor the CBF or Neymar himself had the courage to solve for the sake of the Brazilian team and especially the player — to remove him from the eye of the storm,” wrote a Twitter user.– Sidelined –Neymar is scheduled to return to the football field with PSG on August 3 for the Champions Trophy game against Rennes in Shenzhen, China. But it is not clear if he will have physically recovered by then. It took Real Madrid youngster Vinicius Junior, who suffered a ruptured ankle ligament in March, two months to return to the game. And there is also the chance Neymar could miss the match for a non-sporting reason as he faces police investigations stemming from the alleged rape.“I ask myself why he has had so many physical hic-cups in recent years when he was injured very little early in his career,” Coelho said, referring to the foot injuries that sidelined Neymar for several months this year and last season.Rumors have circulated in recent weeks that Neymar could return to FC Barcelona, but his recurring injuries and tarnished image could put off the Catalan club where Neymar played from 2013 to 2017 before his record 222 million euro transfer to PSG.Brazil’s national coach Tite, who has described Neymar as “indispensable” to the national team, but also not “irreplaceable”, is looking for a substitute.Vinicius Junior or Lucas could be called up. Another alternative is Ajax Amsterdam’s David Neres.Share on: WhatsApp FILE PHOTO: NeymarRio de Janeiro, Brazil | AFP | Forced out of the Copa America by injury, star striker Neymar faces an uncertain playing future in Paris Saint-Germain and Brazil where he is engulfed in an alleged rape scandal.Neymar vehemently denies the accusation, which has dominated headlines and dogged Brazil’s preparations for the Latin American tournament starting June 14.Here’s what could happen next for the world’s most expensive footballer.– Image tarnished –Beyond the potential sporting consequences of missing Copa America, Neymar’s image has taken a serious blow.Shortly before the 27-year-old player was injured in the Brazil-Qatar friendly in Brasilia on Wednesday, his accuser told a Brazilian broadcaster that she had been the victim of “aggression together with rape.”Hours later a video circulated on social media showing the young woman hitting Neymar in a hotel room and accusing him of assaulting her the day before.Sponsors are clearly worried. Mastercard has cancelled an advertising campaign starring Neymar that was to be broadcast during the Copa America, Spanish media reported. Nike expressed its “deep concern” on Monday.“Only football can save him,” Fox Sports commentator Paulo Vinicius Coelho told AFP.“It’s enough that he focuses on his game. He showed this season with PSG that he is still capable of playing great matches.”– Fake or fate? –Few Brazilian football fans or commentators appear to believe Neymar faked his injury so he could pull out of the Copa America due to the rape allegation.“I don’t believe in a fake injury, for me the image clearly evokes a ruptured ankle ligament,” Coelho said. But the timing raised eyebrows, coming shortly after a senior Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) official had publicly suggested Neymar would pull out of the tournament.last_img read more
