Dougie Freedman insisted he remained confident of turning Bolton’s fortunes around after their 4-0 defeat against Fulham. The thrashing at Craven Cottage continued Wanderers’ miserable start to the season – they are second from bottom and have been blighted by defensive errors. However, asked if expected to be given more time to improve results, Freedman said: “I think so, because you’ve got to look at whole picture. Is changing managers every five minutes the answer?“I feel very confident I can do the job. We’ve got characters in there and spirit and a good attitude.“It’s a difficult job but I believe I’m the man to pull us away from this. I’m confident we can do it.“Everyone’s entitled to their opinion and I understand the frustration of the fans, I really do.”Goals from Hugo Rodallega, Fernando Amorebieta, Lasse Vigen Christensen and Tim Hoogland gave Fulham an emphatic first home league win of the season.“We set our stall out to be compact and once again we gifted them a goal. We’ve got to give ourselves a chance,” said Freedman.“We didn’t do enough up top and then left ourselves wide open. It all boils down to the fact that we have to stop giving away silly goals.”Follow West London Sport on TwitterFind us on Facebook
